Cameo Pizza (located in Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille) and Frosty Bar are a couple of the most popular pizza joints, Mama Maria’s is a gem hidden in plain sight on the downtown Put-in-Bay strip (try an Italian meatball sub). The Upper Deck is one of many restaurants in the Boardwalk complex, and Joe’s Bar on the south part of the island is a great place for a burger and a beer. Want a burrito? Try the excellently named Big Man’s Burrito Stand. DJs, Dairy Isle, The Candy Shop and the Chocolate Shoppe are the big purveyors of ice cream, and Old Forge is know for its crepes. A cuban sandwich at Topsy Turvey could be a nice dark horse choice, locals swear by it.
There’s so many great restaurants in range of the Put-in-Bay harbor, on Delaware Ave alone there’s about a dozen. Catawba Ave adds a good half-dozen more, like Hooligans and Mossbacks. The Keys has outdoor seating and a Caribbean vibe that makes it a unique experience in Ohio.
