South Bass Island’s Firetruck Bar (Last Resort Engine Company)

This 1980’s “LaFrance Pumper” firetruck has had its tank removed, insides gutted and stripped, and its body restored to be placed in downtown Put-in-Bay! This bar is owned by the same people as the Grand Islander Inn, and they brought the truck to PIB and built a deck around the outside to maximize outdoor seating availability.

To keep with the fire department theme, many items and pieces of gear that firefighters across the country use every day were repurposed for the bar. Some of these cool features include fire extinguishers that were turned into bar stools, used fire helmets including one used by the NYFD in 9/11, and original ladders across the awning!

Along with that, they have awesome merchandise in the form of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats to commemorate the time you had at this unique bar! You can also find flat-screen TV’s used to show sports games like the one which reveals that compound bow, and other forms of entertainment while you enjoy this cool island experience with your friends!
