What’s Happening at Your Local Library?
The winners of our Summer Reading Challenge will be announced the first week of August and printed in the September Gazette. As of July 28th, 47 patrons signed up and 500 books were read. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Wed., Aug. 11th, 2021 – 3 p.m.: Kite Flying at Perry’s Intl. Peace Memorial
Looking for something to do before school starts? Come to the plaza of Perry’s International Peace Memorial for an opportunity to fly a kite that you decorate. We will supply a kite kit that you can decorate with your own design. Let’s hope the wind is with us!
Mon., Aug. 16th – 11 a.m.: Story Time at the Lake Erie Islands Nature Center
Join Librarian Karen Wilhelm for a half hour of reading, song and a craft to take home. Family fun at the Lake Erie Islands Nature Center back porch! Parents and caregivers are asked to stay with their children.
Wed., Aug. 18th – 5:30 p.m.: Words & Wine Book Club
Join us and share a book you have read while enjoying a beverage of your own choosing. Even if you haven’t had time to read, you are welcome to join us to hear what others are suggesting. We can’t wait to hear what you have been reading! Please contact the library for location details.
Week of Mon., Aug. 23rd to Sat., Aug. 28th: Stay at Home Movie Night
Let us create a ‘date night’ for you and your family. Come to the library and check out one of our ‘Let’s Stay In’ date night bundles. We will provide a movie, a bag of popcorn, all the props needed for up to four moviegoers and a couple munchies to make your time together entertaining. Your family is going to love this new interactive movie experience! Don’t miss out. The movie this month is “Finding Nemo.” Limited kits available.

Ready for hours of fun? Come to the library and pick up a kit to make your very own Marshmallow Shooter! Easy and fun for all ages!
