A new season is upon us! As well as a new president…Let me introduce myself. I am Sheri Murphy and I live in Findlay, OH when the ferries aren’t running. Otherwise, I have enjoyed every moment I can of the last nine years up on this magical island. I have some huge shoes to fill, but hope people realize I am a continuing work in progress. That being said, I would like to encourage others who may have been contemplating joining this energetic group to take the leap and join in on the fun. We can be “newbies” together.
Membership application/renewal forms are available on our website, www.PutinBayGardenClub.com. Individual memberships are $20 and can be mailed to PIBGC, P.O. Box 815, PIB, OH 43456. I would love to welcome any of you who have an interest in, or appreciation of gardening of any sort…even if you don’t have the proverbial “green thumb.”
The PIBGC board has been busy throughout these past winter months planning some new and educational events for the 2024 season. These include a bonsai presentation in June and a trip in July to NASA’s ( Armstrong Test Facility) stunning natural landscapes in Sandusky OH. (Who knew, right?) A full list of 2024 programs is listed on our website and on the member renewal form.
Flower basket planting will take place on Thursday, May 23rd. If you are interested in helping, please contact Val Chornyak (419) 285-4030 or Jody Frimel (440) 320-6473. Also, if you are interested in keeping these hanging baskets looking beautiful throughout the season, Barb Mehling would very much appreciate your assistance and can be reached at (419) 285-5792.
