Did you know that Put-in-Bay has more antique vehicles per capita than any other place on Earth? I bet you didn’t. If you’re coming up to the island for the weekend you’ll definitely see a few driving around in the sun. You can also see many more at the Antique Car Museum at Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center. Here you will find awesome old memorabilia from gas stations and road signs of old, as well as an amazing collection of vintage automobiles.
Charles “Skip” Duggan started the tradition on Put-in-Bay of the Antique Car Parade. The parade is famous among residents and vacationers alike. Every Sunday afternoon, everyone with an antique car joins in on a parade across the entire island. The Antique Car Museum now stands in his memory. He was the original curator who collected the antique vehicles you will find at the Antique Car Museum.
The Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center is the home of the Antique Car Museum, where you will find vintage taxis, Model T’s, a Dodge touring car, and much more. Incredibly, the Antique Car Museum is a FREE attraction. You can check it out after you find your way through the winding life-sized maze Fort aMaze’n, or once you hand in your scorecard from the War of 18 Holes miniature golf course. There’s so much to do at Perry’s Cave, but don’t miss out on the Antique Car Museum.
The Antique Car Museum is at Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center
Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center is full of activities and attractions for the entire family. You’ll never run out of things to do. The centerpiece is Perry’s Cave, of course, but there is also the exhilarating Gemstone Mining. You’ll buy a bag of rough from the Shop at the Top, then move over to the water chute and sift through it for gems! Back in the day, when the pioneers were hunting for their fortunes, there was no guarantee of ever finding anything. But we’re willing to predict that if you try out the Gemstone Mining at Perry’s Cave, you’ll have better luck!
