Testimonial

Bonnie P: “This was our first visit to Put-in-Bay. At first, we’d simply intended to rent a golf cart to see the island. But instead, we opted for the tour train which was included in the Family Fun Pack ($50) available from Miller’s Ferry Service. In addition to several attraction admission vouchers, the Fun Pack included a round-trip ferry, round-trip bus to downtown, and the tour train – all at considerable savings from what everything would have cost bought individually.

The bus can be boarded near the ferry and takes you straight to the tour train depot. There are restrooms, a snack bar, and a visitors center at the tour train depot.

Tour tickets entitle you to ride one full circuit with on and off privileges along the way. For example: If you start at the depot station, you can get off at the fish hatchery and 30 minutes later, get back on and ride to Perry’s Cave. But you cannot get on at Perry’s Cave and make the circuit all the way around back to the fish hatchery – since you only get one complete circuit from wherever you first get on.

The train runs remarkably on time. So check the time each time you get off and know that you can get back on the next train 30 minutes later. The drivers/tour guides are excellent – giving you an informative entertaining tour of not only the featured attractions- but many other things you’ll pass along the way.

We started at the depot and stepped on and off at just about every stop along the way. After we got to the last stop before completing the circuit – Perry’s Peace Memorial National Park, we decided to walk from there to the downtown area and the city park which was in full swing with the annual Pirate Festival. We then walked back to the depot where we caught the bus to the ferry.

The tour train offers a stress-free informative way to see the island. Highly recommended!”
