Lisa – Loved the little cottage feel, was close enough to town without being in the thick of it.
Tom K – We arrived after the office was closed and went to our room, it was half of a 2 unit building with a nice front porch and all in excellent repair. We went inside and the room was very clean, the air conditioning was on already and the refrigerator was cold, what more could you ask for? It is a quiet location and very well maintained. You can tell the owners take pride in their facilities and grounds. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back and will tell everyone I know about Bird’s Nest Resort it is a top notch place to stay and their rates are about half the price of places closer to town.
Lavar and Jason – The rooms were clean, and let me tell you I travel a lot of places in very expensive hotels, but the Birds Nest beds are definitely one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. I will definitely stay again, and recommend the bird’s nest to anyone.
Lorain – We were very pleased with all the upgrades and improvements the new owners have made. There are new beds, linens, a small refrigerator and microwave, and new flooring like that laminate flooring. The rooms and grounds are neat and clean. The pool is wonderful and clean also… It is a bright and cheery place to stay away from town in a natural setting. Thank you for everything that has been done to make our favorite place to stay much better. We hope to return next year

How to get to Put-in-Bay?
- Two dedicated ferry services provide easy access to the island from the mainland: the Miller Ferry for vehicle and passenger service from Catawba Island, and the Jet Express for passenger-only service from Port Clinton or Sandusky.
Can I bring my own car?
- Technically, you can – and you are allowed one vehicle per rental, but we suggest that you leave your car on the mainland. Getting around the island is easy thanks to golf cart rentals and Island Taxi Service. Be advised that parking is not available in downtown Put-in-Bay.
What is there to do for fun on Put-in-Bay?
- Pretty much whatever you’d like! Put-in-Bay offers nature trails for discovery by bicycle or on foot. There are also waterways for fishing fun or jet ski adventures. You’ll find plenty of dining options and wineries for food, drink, and even nightlife with live local music. Of course, you can also just settle into a beach chair and catch a spellbinding sunset. The choice is yours!
Can I purchase beer on the island?
- Yes, beer is available to purchase on Put-in-Bay! Visit The Beverage Center downtown to buy carry-out beer, wine, and low-proof liquor during your stay.
Policies
Check-in time is 4pm – 8pm. Please plan on checking out by 11 am on your date of departure. If you would like to discuss alternative arrangements, please contact us and we will do what we can. Luggage storage will be available to guests in need of early check-in or late departure.
There is a two day minimum on all cabin rentals. King, Double, and Efficiency rooms hold a two day minimum on weekends and holidays. Saturday check out is not available.
We require pre-payment of the first night’s rental for reservations of 2 nights or more, and full payment for 1-night reservations. Charges are fully refundable for up to 14 days before your arrival. Refunds will not be offered in the case of early departures or no shows.
Parking is limited at the resort. There is a one-car limit per rental. Guests are advised to consider island taxi service for island transportation, for a $3 flat rate per ride. You may also choose to rent a golf cart on site.
An additional fee of $40 applies for each pet in your travel party.
