A Put-in-Bay institution since 1953, Chicken Patio has the market on tasty American fare. Originally, Chicken Patio cooked each meal of signature chicken in house-made wine sauce on a small grill. Today, an expanded menu and a 21-foot charcoal grill meet the growing demands of island locals and visitors alike.

Chicken Patio History and Location

Chicken Patio’s prime location next to the World Famous Round House Bar and across the street from Derivera Park makes it an easy find for those vacationing on South Bass Island and a top choice for boaters coming in for a quick bite.
Interestingly, there was no electricity at the original Roundhouse Bar. Blocks of ice cut from the harbor were used throughout the tourist season. The ice was stored at the IceHouse, present-day Put-in-Bay Winery. Today, you’ll find plenty of ice-cold beverages available. You’ll also find exceptional live entertainment at the nearby Roundhouse. Most notably, one-man comedy and music act Mike “Mad Dog” Adams. Mad Dog has played at the Roundhouse stage for over 35 years – don’t miss your chance to catch a show along with a great, filling meal. Check out their entertainment page for additional details.
