What’s Happening at Your Local Library?
Computers are available for public use. We can make copies and fax.
We continue to offer no contact events through Facebook and Zoom. Many activities have kits available for patrons to pick up. Check out these events for February:
February 1st-12th: Blind Date with a Book – Remember the saying: Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover? Stop by Erie Islands Library and choose one of the wrapped books on display. Check the book out and then take it home to read. Let us know if you enjoyed your selection by rating the book. All participants will be entered in a drawing .
Wednesday, February 3rd: Kitchen Chemistry with Sue: Penny Puzzlers – How much fun can you have with a penny? Can you clean them? What ingredients would you use? Can you balance them on your finger?
Monday, February 8th: Ideas for Making Your Own Birdfeeders – Looking for something to do with your children or as a family? Try these easy to make bird feeders! Join Librarian Karen Wilhelm on Erie Islands Library Facebook page at 2 p.m. to see how to make this simple bird feeder for our feathered friends.
Thursday, February 11th: Family Story Time – Join Librarian Karen Wilhelm as she shares a fun story that the entire family will enjoy. This event will be posted on the Erie Islands Library Facebook.
Tuesday, February 16th: Zoom Words & Wine Book Club – Join us and share a book you have read from the comfort of your homes while enjoying a beverage of your own choosing. Even if you haven’t had time to read, you are welcome to join us to hear what others are suggesting. We can’t wait to hear what you have been reading the past couple months! It’s easy to sign up. Just click the link and register your name and email address. Or, call us at 285-4004 and give us your email address. You will be sent a link to join in the Zoom fun. Hope you can make it!
Wednesday, February 24th: DIY T-Shirt Tote – Want to preserve that favorite t-shirt a little longer? Try this easy no sew project from your own t-shirt. Librarian Karen Wilhelm will show you how in this Facebook event. Takes ten minutes or less to make your own tote! Just in case you need instructions in print, they will be available at the library.
