The Put-in-Bay Airport is home to an attraction that is sure to thrill. Right by the put-in-bay waterfront condos, you can soar in the air like pilots of old with Put-in-Bay Biplane Rides. This is an experience you probably can’t have back home. The open cockpit biplane is very similar to what was flown in World War I. Unlike World War I, however, the skies above Put-in-Bay are free of enemies looking for a dogfight! You’ll be free to enjoy some amazing sightseeing and amazing aerial views of Put-in-Bay island, port Clinton, and the other Lake Erie Islands.

If you’d like, the highly trained pilot will give you a lesson on how to fly the plane, then you can fly it yourself for a bit. And if you’ve got the guts, the pilot will be more than happy to do some barrel rolls, spins, and loops. The friendly folks at Put-in-Bay Biplane Rides will help you customize your experience so that it’s perfect for you. You’ll be informed about everything you can and can’t do up in the air. Then you can design your ideal flight experience. It’ll be a ride you won’t soon forget!

Right near Derivera Park, the monument is named after Oliver Hazard Perry during the war of 1812 and the Battle of Lake Erie. At the monument they also have an observation deck that you can go out on and see everything surrounding PIB, like Gibraltar Island. They often also have live reenactments right in the grass outside of the monument. One of the best Put-in-Bay family-friendly activities on the island is Perry’s Cave and Family Fun Center. Choose from a variety of kid-friendly activities at the Family Fun Center like mini-golf, gem mining, the Butterfly House, a rock climbing wall and more! Boaters usually come down to fish for some fresh Lake Erie Walleye. Stay for one of our Put-in-Bay events like Pyrate weekend or Jeep Fest.
