Annual Pyrate Fest

For many years in a row, pirates have been invadin’ Put-in-Bay’s downtown harbor on Friday at 4:00 PM to open the Put-in-Bay Pyrate Fest. Grab your wooden leg and your pet parrot, because you’re going to need them. Saturday will be an exciting day full of fun activities. Make sure you don’t miss the Pirate Parade downtown and the Best Costume Contest this side of Lake Erie. Adults and children are both encouraged to participate. Additionally, the best adult pirate costume wins a trip to the Cayman Islands! Sounds like a challenge to us!

Pyrate Fest Planned Events

• A Pyrate marketplace and displays
• A kid’s fun fest
• Black powder firing demonstrations.

Each day of the event there will be multiple activities, performances, and fun to be had. Tuesday evening officially concluded the event with the infamous Cardboard Boat Races at 6:00 PM in the downtown harbor. You’ll be sure to have a good time participating in pirate-themed events throughout the festival. Watch as scurvy bearded pirates demonstrate sword fighting techniques, as well as the art of skullduggery. Kids will have the chance to practice with foam swords also!

After a few days of plundering, you’re sure to build up quite the appetite but we have you covered for Pyrate Fest. Explore tasty grub from any of the Put-in-Bay eateries and you’ll be fit as a fiddle and ready to return to your voyage. Head over to The Boathouse for delicious seafood options and more. Maybe you need to take a break in one of Put-in-Bay’s favorite pubs? Grab your mate and head over to Hooligans. This awesome Irish Pub offers a great atmosphere with an outdoor seating area and even greater beer. There are so many great dining options!
