There has been a lot of information in the news lately regarding Ohio Issue 2, the State Capital Improvements Program that began in 1987. We PIB Twp. Trustees want to show you how this program has helped the Put-in-Bay Township in the past. We partner with the Ottawa County Engineer to apply for grants through the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC), which is directly related to the State Capital Improvements Program. This program has saved our taxpayers over $2.2 million dollars in recent years.
To put this into perspective, the Village recently received a quote of $208,000 to pave a section of road less than half a mile in length. The State Capital Improvements Program has allowed the Township to have 5 roads paved for almost the same amount. Here is a breakdown on how it has helped keep our roads safe.
