Located downtown Put-in-Bay, Topsy Turvey’s Bar and Grill is an island favorite, selling sundry fishing and boating supplies, but most customers at Topsy Turvey’s are there for the food. It may sound a little odd, but they seriously have the best and freshest fried perch among Put-in-Bay restaurants. No need to excuse on your own fishing trip. A delicious perch sandwich is immediately available with less loss of blood and treasure than you probably would have incurred had you spent all day catching it yourself. Other house favorites include Key West-style Cuban sandwiches and breakfast burritos. You can also have that Cuban scrambled with some eggs for a breakfast treat. And you can have it all on a bagel if your heart desires. Take in the sunset and, several nights a week, you can also catch a live entertainment musical act with plenty of outdoor seating. And every night of the week you can partake of Topsy Turvey’s top-shelf cocktails, margarita, the best of which is their Brandy Alexander, an indulgent mix of cognac, cream, and creme de cacao.

Located right off Lake Erie, Ohio, Topsy Turvey is perfectly located in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay. Park your golf cart at Derivera Park once and walk to the many bars and attractions downtown South Bass Island has to offer. Looking for a nice dining option? Get some fresh walleye from the Boathouse Bar. If you are looking for that Caribbean feel swing by the Keys for some appetizers and a Pina Colada. The Irish bar Hooligans is the place to go if you are looking for a Black & Tan. Also just a short taxi ride away is one of the island favorites the Goat. Located right next door to Biergarten try their amazing Goat soup. 

If you are looking for the ideal island bar you have to check out Mojito Bay. This tiki themed bar is a must. Looking for the nightlife island experience? Delaware Ave is the place to start the night. There you will find some of the islands most popular bars including Frosty’s Bar, the Round House Bar, and Mr. Ed’s Bar & Grille. All of which provide live music. Some other bars that are worth their salt are Reel Bar, Mossbacks, and the Fishbowl located on Catawba Avenue.

Be sure to have a super tasty Brandy Alexander while there!! It is right on the water and marina. Great views and it feels like a bar in the Florida keys. Not super busy on Saturday afternoon, that is part of being a hidden gem!! A must stop for me every Put-in-Bay visit!”
