T&J’s Smokehouse brings the country to Put-in-Bay for the first time ever! This is the first country-western bar on the island, and there’s no need for any more because they do it the best. Stop in for a whiskey and an unforgettable burger. And don’t forget all the peanuts you can eat, and all the peanut shells you can step on! If your timing is good, you can see dueling pianos. And did we mention Brisket? No? Well, we’ll get to him in a minute. First, let’s talk about your meal.

T&J’s has a bunch of appetizers sure to delight. Some of our favorites are the fried green tomatoes and the firecracker shrimp, and if you want to be adventurous, check out the Thai Five Spice Ahi Tuna. You won’t regret it! Or maybe you just want some good ol’ fashioned wings. T&J’s has 8 flavors to offer. Caribbean Jerk and Cowboy Sauce come highly recommended, and you’ll also find great versions of traditional flavors like hot buffalo and BBQ. You can get bone-in wings as well as boneless. There’s also an array of tasty sides to go with your meal. The garlic fries are awesome, and so is the asparagus. But the burgers are the stars of the show. You can’t go wrong here, even if you choose the turkey burger. Coated in delicious jerk seasoning and topped with muenster cheese and fried green tomatoes, you won’t believe you’re making a healthier choice. The rest of the burgers are USDA Angus beef and come in a variety of styles, and none of them will let you down.

Entertainment at T&J’s Smokehouse

Don’t think we forgot about Brisket! Brisket in this case isn’t a menu item, in fact, you might be on Brisket’s menu! Brisket is the only mechanical bull in Put-in-Bay, and you can challenge him at T&J’s Smokehouse. Are you strong and agile enough to survive 8 seconds of rodeo madness? If not, don’t worry, the padding surrounding Brisket will bring you down safely when you inescapably get tossed from the back of Put-in-Bay’s undisputed champ! You must be 18 and over, and sign a waiver, to test your luck against Brisket.

But that’s not all the fun at T&J’s. Often you’ll be able to catch a live performance by one of the region’s top country-western acts! A full schedule for the summer is available here. These shows typically start around 8 PM, so schedule accordingly.

Testimonials

Steve W: “This was one of the stops for my bachelor party. The food was good, the energy was immense, and the bull is worth it all. I am sure that somewhere there is a picture or video of me riding it that night with a Borat style full-body man thong, and getting thrown off for the world to see the party. Certainly enough phones out and recording. The moral of the story, if you’re going to TJ’s, come ready to have fun and let loose.”

Jackie S: “By far the best place to relax and enjoy not only amazing food but great entertainment. Whether you sit on the patio and enjoy the dueling pianos and watching people attempt to ride the bull, or head inside for some awesome modern country music, there is definitely something for everyone. I recommend this place to all of my friends! Can’t wait for summer!”

Kristine C: “Was the first person there yesterday and the service was amazing. The pulled pork sandwich and fries were some of the best I have ever had. The service was great!! I will definitely be back.”
