Middle Bass
Family Fun Day
Mark your calendar now! The Middle Bass Family Fun Day is set for Saturday, June 21st, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the field next to the Town Hall. This is a FREE community event sponsored by Middle Bass Construction Co.! The goal is for people to have fun and meet other island residents and visitors. This is sort of like a community meet and greet! PIB neighbors are also invited as well!
There will be two inflatables, face painting, sno-cone machines, cotton candy machines, playground equipment, yard games, music and some food! This is all free as a thank you to the community for helping the Lasotas grow their little construction company.
Thank you!
The Town Hall would like to say thank you to the Middle Bass Construction Company for two recent upgrades to their building. One of the outside steps to the back door had deteriorated and needed replacing, so they asked Rob LaSota for a bid to replace this step. Shortly thereafter, he put in a new step and told them it was at no cost. Additionally, last summer several of the Barbershoppers recommended that a railing be added to the stage steps so they again asked Rob if he could give them a bid for this project. Over the winter, he added a new railing (which will later be stained) – again at no cost.
Support like this to the Town Hall makes a real difference in the upkeep of the 100+ year-old building and they are so grateful for Rob’s donation of his time and commitment. Thanks again Middle Bass Construction Company for your generosity!

Kelleys Island
Man Killed In Accident
A crash on Kelleys Island that left a 24-year-old, Wesley Finley, dead is being investigated by The Ohio State Highway Patrol. The accident happened in the wee hours of the morning on May 26th on West Lakeshore Drive near Huntington Street.
Finley, who is from East Bernstadt, KY, was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang when he drove off the left side of the road, striking several metal fence posts, a deck, several rocks and finally overturning landing partially in the water.
Finley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
