Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton will hold a Put-in-Bay Community Lab Screening the first Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.at the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department at 199 Concord Ave. The screening dates will be August 1st, September 5th, October 3rd, November 7th and December 5th. Miller Ferry, Put-in-Bay Vol. Fire Dept. and Griffing Flying Service will be working with Magruder to provide the monthly island-located lab services.
Lab testings offered include a Comprehensive screen for $50 (BCC, CMP & Lipid Profile – includes liver and kidney function, fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, HDL/LDL, triglycerides, and a complete count of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets in the blood; Hemoglobin A1C for $20; PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) for $30; TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) for $25; Vitamin D for $35; and Lipid Profile (stand-alone) for $20.
If you have a provider order for lab work, you can come to the Put-in-Bay Fire Department building on the dates listed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. No appointment is required, and you only need to bring your provider order for labs and your insurance card and photo ID.”
This service will also offer self-pay lab services “for those who do not have a provider order for lab work.
Each test can be ordered by itself or in addition to another test and or a doctor’s order. Participants are asked to fast for 12 hours prior to their appointment time (water, black coffee or tea are allowed).
No appointment is required and no insurance is necessary. Payment can be made to the Magruder Cashier’s Office by cash, check or credit card. Payment can also be made by credit card over the phone by calling (419) 734-3131 ext. 3508.
